Founded in 2017, Yoseikan-Ryu Karate Rowville is a proud martial arts dojo based in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Our mission is to provide a well-rounded Karate experience by blending the discipline and philosophy of traditional Karate with the excitement and competitiveness of modern sport Karate.
We cater to students aged 5 and up, offering classes that are tailored to suit all experience levels — from complete beginners to advanced martial artists. Our friendly, supportive environment encourages personal growth, physical fitness, and self-confidence, while staying true to the values of respect and discipline at the heart of Karate.

Our Instructors
Golub Tomic- Head Instructor for Rowville
Golub Tomic leads Yoseikan-Ryu Karate in Rowville, Victoria, bringing over three decades of martial arts experience and a deep passion for teaching. A 3rd Dan Black Belt, Golub began his karate journey in 1990 in the former Yugoslavia, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become Vice-Champion of the Republic of Srpska. Since moving to Australia, he has made a lasting impact both on the mat and as a coach—competing and teaching since 2002.
Golub has represented Victoria and Australia at national and international levels, earning titles such as Victorian Kumite Champion, Australian National Vice-Champion, and Oceania Open Vice-Champion. Golub joined Yoseikan-ryu in 2017 and today, he proudly serves as the Victorian State Kumite Coach, guiding the next generation of champions with discipline, skill, and integrity.
Emilija Tomic
Emilija Tomic is a dedicated martial artist and junior Black Belt who hasrepresented Victoria as a former member of the state Kata team. Alongside her achievements in karate, she is currently pursuing her studies in medicine, balancing academic excellence with martial discipline.
Nikola Tomic
Nikola Tomic, also a junior Black Belt, has a strong competitive background in kumite. He is a former member of the Victorian Kumite Team and holds multiple prestigious titles, including Victorian Cadet-Junior Champion, Australian Open Cadet-Junior Champion, and Oceania Open Cadet-Junior Champion. Nikola is currently studying engineering, applying the same focus and determination from the dojo to his academic journey.
Niamatullah Niamatullah
Niamatullah Niamatullah, a 3rd Dan Black Belt, brings international experience and top-tier competitive success to the Yoseikan-Ryu team. Originally from Pakistan, he was a member of the national kumite team before joining the Victorian team in Australia. In 2024, he achieved the distinguished title of Australian National Champion, continuing to compete at the highest level while mentoring others in the sport.
