Western Australian karate athlete Ana Jović has achieved an outstanding international result, winning a silver medal at the prestigious Karate One Youth League Championships in Manila, Philippines.

Representing her club, Yoseikan-Ryu Karate, Jović competed in the Under-14 Girls Kumite (-47kg) division and fought her way through a highly competitive international field to reach the gold medal match. Demonstrating exceptional skill, determination and composure, she secured the silver medal against some of the world's best young karate athletes.

The achievement was made even more remarkable by the fact that Ana was the only Western Australian athlete to win a medal at the championships. Ana was joined in Manila by fellow Yoseikan-Ryu Karate athletes Katherine Redmond, Claire Bertagnolio, Mitchell Durham (coach) and Owen Blockley (coach) who also represented their club and Western Australia with pride. Competing on the international stage provided valuable experience for all three athletes as they tested themselves against some of the world's strongest youth competitors.

Ana's success is a testament to her dedication, hard work and commitment to continuous improvement. It also reflects the strong coaching and development environment at Yoseikan-Ryu Karate, where she has worked tirelessly to reach the international stage.

For the Yoseikan-Ryu Karate community, Ana's result is a proud moment and an inspiration for younger students aspiring to compete at the highest levels of the sport. Her achievement demonstrates that with perseverance, discipline and passion, Western Australian athletes can successfully challenge the world's best.

Winning silver at the Karate One Youth League Championships is a significant milestone in Ana's karate journey. As the only Western Australian medallist at the event, she has not only achieved personal success but has also brought recognition to her club, her state and the broader Western Australian karate community.
